Why do you help contractors?

Because our founders, investors, and many of our team members know how difficult it can be to run a residential contracting business. We have experienced the stress, the sleepless nights, the fear of making payroll, and other nightmares contractors have experienced. We know the challenges you face. Because of those reasons, we know we’re the best organization to help you solving any challenge(s) you face in your business. There was a need in the marketplace for what we provide: Contractors were craving a business education, a way to make more for all the hard work they do. We’ve replicated the systems, procedures, and programs that we have used to build some of the largest and most successful contracting companies in the world and given them to others—and they’re available to you. It’s literally changed the face of contracting.

How is this different than working with consultants?

We are not consultants! We have been involved in the residential consulting industry for almost two decades and have helped lead many of the changes which have occurred within it. Typically consultants come into your business, tell you what’s wrong, make suggestions, and leave! Electricians’ Success International® gives you the details needed to become a model company; provides you with the comprehensive, multi-faceted system that when implemented properly will transform your operation into a model company; and then offer you the assistance you need from experts with decades of successful experience in the industry to help you implement the ESI system!

My market is unique, how will this help me?

All markets are unique and have their own little nuances, but when you get right down to it, the challenges you are facing are the same everywhere. Is this a franchise?

Absolutely NOT! We are not a franchise. We are a membership organization made up of independent contractors. We offer proven management tools, trademarked marketing, patented selling systems, financial models, documented procedures, training, networking opportunities, group buying, and much more. Our members have the freedom to pick and choose what and when they want to implement any and all of the tools and systems we offer. But no matter what they choose to use, they remain 100% INDEPENDENT!

What is the Electricians’ Success International® program?

The concept behind the Electricians’ Success International® program is simple: Many electrical contractors are gifted at their trade, but they struggle with certain nuances of business. That’s where we can help… ESI is truly a College for Contractors. Instead of receiving your core education over four or five years, you learn how to run a highly successful contracting company in a fraction of that time. The ESI program was developed by industry legends with nearly 40 years each of unprecedented success in contracting—and the program has been proven to work in any market and in every size of company. It includes proven management tools and expertise; turnkey marketing strategies and materials; training for owners, general managers, and employees; and second-to-none group buying power. FAQs About Becoming a Member

How do I become a member?

It’s quite simple, you first need to attend a Profit Day. It’s impossible for a direct mailer or website to summarize all that Electricians’ Success International® encompasses and does for its members. That’s why we host Profit Days to demonstrate our knowledge for the industry and provide insight into where this industry is heading. Along the way, we’ll provide you tips, strategies, and advice to help make you more successful.

Who will be helping me?

Within 24 hours of joining Electricians’ Success International®, you will be contacted by our on-boarding specialist. Our on-boarding specialist will learn about you and your company. He will start working with you and coaching you on the fundamentals of running a highly successful business. From there, he will coordinate your attendance to Executive Perspective. Executive Perspective is an intensive immersion training where you will be exposed to all of our systems, tools, procedures, and staff. We’ll walk you through how to implement the comprehensive ESI system away from the distractions of your business. After Executive Perspective, you will have a detailed roadmap to follow to drastically enhance your success.

We don’t just mail you the materials and hope you figure it out. We walk you through all the tools and answer your questions regarding them. You’ll also meet your Client Success Manager, whose sole purpose is to help you achieve success. If you have any questions or concerns, he is there to help walk you through them. On top of that, you’ll have the opportunity to come to Executive Perspective as often as you like and bring as many team members as you like at no additional fee.

You’ll also see that as a part of ESI, you’ll be able to tap into the wealth of knowledge which is our membership. You’ll network and discuss your business with your fellow members. Often lifelong friendships develop, and you’ll have other success-minded contractors eager to help you in any way possible.

How are you different from other contracting organizations?

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, and because of that, more groups have entered the space of helping contractors, hoping to mimic our organization, but it’s simply not possible. We have a long track-record of success, have lead the vast majority of change within the trades we touch, and will be here in the future. We have invested millions of dollars in patents, trademarks, systems, marketing, and tools; we leverage the knowledge and skillset we have amassed through our experiences within the trades; and we have partnered with some of the greatest training and marketing minds because it’s what our members need to succeed! And not only do we understand where the industry has been, we continue to steer the industry and will do so for many years to come.

What kind of contractors join ESI?

We have contractors from all walks of life and sizes. We have members who are fourth generation and joined because their fathers or grandfathers were part of our previous organizations. We have individuals who have had no contracting experience join because they needed a system that worked—and we offered just that.

We had contractors generating under $250K in revenue join our organization and now are multi-million dollar, highly profitable operations. We also had contractors generating over $30M in revenue join our organization because they knew there was room for improvement within their business.

Two of our largest and most successful members are perfect pictures of what the ESI/SGI proven system can do for a company.  The first company joined with revenues under $2.5M. Today, it’s an $80M business. The second company joined in 1999 doing approximately $900K in new construction. It will close the year generating $60M in revenue.

FAQs About Being a Member

Do I get to keep the material if I leave the organization?

When you join our membership, you are licensed to use any and all of ESI’s systems, tools, and procedures as long as you are a member in good standing. Should you leave ESI, you may no longer use our proprietary tools.

Do I have to use all of Electricians’ Success International’s tools and systems?

The Electrician’s Success International program and all of its tools, systems, and procedures are time-tested and proven; as a result, we encourage you to review each of them. In addition, we constantly roll out new programs and strategies each and every year at our semi-annual Expos. You have access to all of this! You can choose what to use in your business and when to use it. Think of ESI like a buffet: You have an array of options, and you can pick everything or just this and that.

Who within my company has access to Electricians’ Success International®?

Anyone who is a part of your team has access to ESI. We realize that different employees need different levels of exposure to our programs, so we create different opportunities for you to expose your team members to our organization. We have training that will impact your senior management team down to training for your front-line employees. But at the end of the day, all of your employees have access to all of the tools available to you through your ESI membership.

How long is the membership for?

It’s available for as long as you need it. We have members who’ve been with us since 1999 and want to continue to grow with us. Our membership is set up on a month-to-month basis, so you can leave us any time. We view our members as clients and we don’t want to lose them—so we are constantly reinvesting in our programs, systems, tools, marketing, group buying, and future endeavors, so that our clients stay with us.

Is there an additional cost to being a part of your buying group?

No. BuyMax, the buying division of Electricians’ Success International®, is a part of your membership. When you join ESI, you gain access to the 110 vendor partners that offer discounts and rebates to our members. In fact, in 2013, our members received $3.9M in rebates from our vendors and took advantage of approximately $2M in discounts!

Are there exclusive territories?

Electricians’ Success International® offers licensed, limited memberships and less than 1% of the market will gain access to ESI’s proprietary, copyrighted, and trademarked systems. There is a strict restriction to the number of electrical contractors per area. And we vigorously protect our exclusive content, so our members gain its maximum impact!

What are ESI and Success Group International’s core values?

Who owns Success Group International?

Aquila Investment Group purchased Success Group International (SGI) and all of its trademarks, patents, tools, and proprietary systems on April 15th, 2014. Aquila Investment Group was founded by longtime Clockwork Home Services executives Rebecca Cassel and Lon Cassel, who are also members. (Clockwork was the parent company of SGI.) Along with Rebecca and Lon, influential and key SGI members and select SGI employees have ownership in SGI.

What is Success Group International’s history?

Success Group International (the parent company of Electricians’ Success International®) was founded in 1999, and it began with a core group of successful contractors—Jim Abrams, John Young, Lon Cassel, Rebecca Cassel, and Patty Myers. They previously built the nation’s largest and most successful HVAC business in the country, ultimately taking it public. They were true trailblazers in the industry. Their next venture started with a vision to help contractors take their companies to an even higher level of success and to impact other areas of contracting, including plumbing, electrical, and roofing. The same core business principles, programs, and philosophies have led to an explosion of success for hundreds of contractors spanning these four different trades!

What is Success Group International?

Electricians’ Success International® (ESI) is a part of the Success Group International (SGI) family. Collectively, SGI is the largest member-owned “best practices” organization in the contracting industry. From its early beginnings more than 15 years ago, SGI was founded to help the independent contractor thrive in an increasingly challenging marketplace. It’s comprised of four separate organizations with an acute focus on the needs and challenges that come with each trade:
